There is nothing more raw, powerful, or life-changing than the moment you meet your baby. Birth is intense and sacred whether it’s in water, at home, in a hospital, or somewhere in between. As your birth photographer, I’m there to witness and quietly document it all: the strength in your body, the love in the room, the calm before the first cry.
What is birth photography?
Birth photography is about so much more than just the moment of delivery. It’s a full story from early labour through to the golden hours after birth. I capture the quiet moments, the deep breaths, the gentle support, the raw power, and that instant you fall in love with someone you’ve never met.
My goal is to be a fly on the wall, not in your way. I work seamlessly alongside midwives, doulas, and care teams at Wollongong Hospital, Shoalhaven Hospital, Wollongong Private Hospital and private or home birth settings across the South Coast.

- On-call from 37 weeks until your baby is born
- Full documentary coverage from active labour through to 1–2 hours post-birth

Think of me as a supportive big sister with a camera: always there, never in the way. I believe in documenting birth as it really is, not filtered or forced, but sacred, strong, and entirely yours.
I offer birth photography across a wide range of locations in the Illawarra and South Coast, including births at Wollongong's Hospitals, Southern Sydney Hospitals, and Nowra’s Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital. I also attend home births and support families birthing at private homes or birth centres throughout the region. My services extend to Albion Park, Kiama, Dapto, Figtree, Port Kembla and surrounding areas. Wherever your story is unfolding, I’m honoured to be there.

This package is for families who want to document the whole journey; pregnancy, birth, and those early newborn days. It’s perfect if you value storytelling and want a consistent, calm presence through all the big moments. You’ll receive three sessions with me: a maternity shoot, full birth coverage, and a newborn session at home.

Fresh 48
Real, raw, early hours documented beautifully.
Fresh 48 sessions take place within the first two days after your baby arrives. These sessions are relaxed and natural, capturing the little details that change so quickly: tiny toes, sleepy yawns, hospital bands, proud siblings, and soft snuggles. I come to your hospital room or home in the Illawarra area; no posing, just quiet connection.
Includes:
✔️ 45–60 minute session at hospital or home within 48 hours of birth

Louise is a private practice midwife providing prenatal care, homebirth services and postnatal care to women and families in the Wollongong area. (Helensburgh to Shoalhaven Heads).
As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, she provides breastfeeding support, including baby tongue tie assessment and treatment, from my clinic based out of Woonona Medical Practice. I am also available for tele-health appointments virtually or phone.
